[private] v10-2-canadian Embassy Visits Roatan Cameron MacKay, Canadian ambassador to Costa Rica visited Roatan on a two-day official visit on January 24 and 25. He met with Canadian constituents, wardens, local government officials, and police to discuss the cases of two unsolved murders of Canadian citizens as well as other Canadian citizen matters. Warden Daine Etches estimates that around 300-400 Canadians are residing in the Bay Islands. Canadian consular offices are located in Tegucigalpa, but Canadian citizen matters in Honduras fall under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Embassy in Costa Rica.
