Island Pairs Take Four of Six Medals at Weekend Tourney

Roatan pairs took four of six medals at the Third Circuit of the Honduran National Beach Volleyball Tour on Roatan July 26-27.

In the women’s competition, Christi Etches and Gisselle Brady won gold by beating the Tegucigalpa duo Euceda/Flores two sets to one. Etches and Brady have represented Honduras at recent international tournaments, including one in Canada in July. The bronze medal went to another Roatan pair, Lois Pinnace and Odalis Murillo, who defeated fellow Roatanians McNab and Rivera two sets to none.

In the men’s competition, Tony Brown and Reagan Wood took silver, losing to Puerto Cortes pair Serrano/Garcia 2-0. Roatanians Orville Henry and Mark Miller claimed bronze, defeating mainlanders Oliva/Gomez in two sets.

All matches were played at Parrot Tree Resort.
